Russell Says That It’d Be Madness If Rohit and Virat Don’t Play T20 WC 2024: Presently Rohit and Virat are on vacation, and Virat and Rohit said that they are not going to play T20I and ODI for some time. This was the topic highlighted in the past few days.

Listening to this, West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has shared his opinion on playing T20 World Cup 2024 with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

One of the main topics circulating around Indian cricket was that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not going to play in the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not participated in the T20 World Cup after the completion of the T20 World Cup 2022.

Like most of the Caribbean islands, Russell doesn’t mince words. He speaks what he has in his mind. He says that it would be utter madness if India doesn’t pick Rohit and Virat for the T20 World Cup 2024.

When Russell had an exclusive interaction with the Hindustan Times, he said that sending all 11 young players from India was not a good idea.

“I don’t know why this is a big thing (the debate on Rohit and Virat). Social media can actually get in the way of cricketers by questioning their potential. Rohit with the experience and Virat being Virat, it would be madness if India picked a team for the (T20) World Cup and they are not in them. 

“Experience in World Cups is very important. You can’t send 11 young soldiers to the battlefield. You have to have experience. The young Indian players will give them a run for their money. They have been good in the chances that they have got but I think when the pressure moments come, you need big players.”

Russell Says That “Rohit and Virat are in a Bracket of Sachin Tendulkar”

As the T20 World Cup 2024 is just in six months, it would be better if they come back to have one final crack at the World Cup. In the incident with Rahul Dravid, BCCI has taken a move and extended his coaching tenure. In the same way, it would be best if they do in Rohit and Virat.

They are big match players, so BCCI should make the decision without listening to the media. He added,

“Rohit is a big game player. Kohli loves the big stage. When a player enjoys being in such a situation, he is not nervous or tentative. I hope the board doesn’t listen to the media and decide. I would definitely give them this World Cup. 

“Don’t treat big players like that. They have done so much for Indian cricket. They are right in that bracket of Sachin Tendulkar. So, it will be unfair to them. It will be madness if they are not picked.” 

But keeping all this aside, many reports came out that Virat Kohli and TRohit have already said to BCCI that he doesn’t want to play any more T20I and ODI but BCCI is convincing them to be captain for Rohit Shama for this T20I series of South Africa.
