Virat and Rohit’s Come Back to T20I Cricket After 14-month Gap

After a long gap in the T20I series league, Virat returned to play the T20I series against Afghanistan. However, many questions are raised to put to rest but both of them completed important assistance to India’s victory in the series, such as the triumph of a 3-0 clean-sweep series against Afghans.

Despite skipping the first innings of the series due to personal reasons, Virat Kohli led uncharacteristic aggression in the second T20I in Indore. He scored 29 runs off 16 balls, showing his intent from the very beginning.

Kohli was fearless in his approach, slog-sweeping spinners and playing cross-batted shots early on, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, as both of them tore into the Afghanistan attack.

Why Srikkanth is not satisfied by Kohli’s Aggressive Way Before T20 World Cup?

Yet, Virat Kohli fell for a first-ball 0 while trying to be aggressive from the word go in the 3rd T20I.

“Each player has his own game. Everybody should first follow their game. If you tell Yashasvi Jaiswal to take his time and play, it’s not right. Players like him and ‘Cheeka’, you can’t tell them to take their time”.

“Rohit Sharma is capable of doing it. Virat Kohli should play his natural game. He likes taking his time, not worried about hitting sixes. He can accelerate in the end, hitting sixes in the end.”

“We saw the Pakistan game in Melbourne and how he built it up and won it for us,” Kris Srikkanth stated in his YouTube show.

‘Virat should track his principles of the game’ says Kris

“So, like you said, the strike rate should be on the back of the mind. If you run after it desperately, it won’t work. If you started swinging from the word go… this is international cricket, you will be lucky to connect once or twice, not always.

“Virat Kohli should follow his principles of the game. How has he succeeded in international cricket? He has followed his style and done it. I think everybody should stick to their strengths,” Srikkanth added further.
