Aakash Chopra On Kohli's Controversial Dismissal After KKR Vs RCB Match

Aakash Chopra On Kohli’s Controversial Dismissal After KKR Vs RCB Match: KKR vs RCB had a clash against each other on April 21, Sunday. In that game, Kohli got rued out that bowled as a full toss that he met above his waist.

Aakash Chopra said the fans and critics of Virat Kohli who are thinking that Koli was not out, against KKR should have a hard look at the game once again.

“Kohli was out according to the current laws” – Aakash Chopra

Virat Kohli was given out on what he argued to be a no-ball from Harshit Rana, former Indian Cricketer Aakash Chopra talking on his YouTube channel, he urged fans to look at the game.

In that game, after the umpire gave the decision, Kohli was left furious and started arguing. Chopra argued that the critics who are taking Kohli’s side in the controversy are only trying to appease one fan base.

Chopra explained everything clearly on the social media platform, X(formerly Twitter),

“People complaining about the existing Law of height of the ball measured at the popping crease-please consider this if the batter decides to walk towards the bowler as the bowler is running in and is 10 feet or more outside the popping crease at the time of release.

Should be bowler be obliged to tinker his length so much? Or in that case, the bowler should also be allowed to forget about the crease and bowl a big no-ball??

Where does it stop?? It’s easier to get carried away and appease a particular fan base but it’s not that difficult to think it through too. Choose wisely.”

Also in the video on his YouTube channel, he said,

“Was Virat Kohli out? The debate is whether it was right or wrong based on the existing laws. Kohli was out according to the current laws. It seemed not out with the naked eye but nothing happens with the naked eye. He was out based on laws and existing technology,” he said (2:00).

“Every player’s height and the distance from the ground to their waist have been measured. So there is no ambiguity now. There is no gray area. Cricket has some laws. Your height till your head and waist are considered while standing upright at the crease,” Chopra explained.

“With the naked eye, it seemed like it was not out but it was a slower one, Kohli was standing outside and the point of impact was even further away. The ball had to travel from there till the crease. Ball trajectory is quite accurate and it showed that it would have been below his waist height if he had been standing at the crease and that’s where it stops,” the reputed commentator added.
