Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has etched his name in the World Cup history with a remarkable performance against Sri Lanka. Shami has entered the CWC after four matches due to Hardik Pandya’s injury and has been proven to be a game-changer for Team, India.

Mohammed Shami surpassed Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath to become the most successful Indian bowler in the history of the ODI World Cup. Zaheer and Javagal had taken 44 wickets in the showpiece event of the 50 overs format.

Mohammed Shami accounted for 5 dismissals against Sri Lanka to go past two big names. Overall, he has 55 wickets in 18 World Cup games he played till now. He recently spoke about his achievements in the interview with Puma, “I don’t play for records. I was not even aware that I surpassed legendary cricketers. I know that I had taken 40 odd wickets but I don’t into the game thinking about milestones. My job is to bowl well.”

“I follow simple rituals. I don’t check the pitch before any game. You can only know about the track by bowling on it. I don’t want to get into modern techniques,” he added.
