2024 IPL Auction: 25 Players Including Travis Head, Mitchell Starc set a base price of 2 crores

The IPL 2024 auction will take place in Dubai on December 19, 2023. On Friday, the identities of 1,166 registered players were provided to all 10 franchises. Among all the registered players, 830 were Indian players and the remaining were foreign players.

All ten franchises have a total of 77 places to fill in the IPL auction 2024. Out of 77, 30 can be filled by foreign players. The franchises have a total of INR 262.95 crores for spending on trading.

Seven of Australia’s ODI World Cup winning squad that including Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Steven Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott, and Josh Inglis enter the IPL auction with a base price of INR 2 crores.

Other notable players in the highest base price include South Africa’s wicket-taker and fast bowler Gerald Coetzee, and England batter Harry Brook who SRH released along with Umesh Yadav, Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Kedra Jadhav.

Australian players are not the only ones using the advantages of their win. New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra is said to be priced at Rs 50 lakh for beginners, but there is no doubt that he will be highly contested for the likes of various franchises.

Yet another expected benefactor due to recent performance will be Josh Inglis who scored his T20 century against India in the ongoing T20 series. He joins the former Australia skipper Steve Smith and pacer Josh Hazlewood in the top. The spoils shall also find their way to South Africa’s new pace sensation Gerald Coetzee, who has taken 20 wickets in the recent ODI World Cup.
